Travel to Germany
For our international friends and family:
- We recommend you fly to Frankfurt International Airport.
- High-speed ICE trains from Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbahnhof (Frankfurt(M) Long-distance train station) take 40 minutes to Mannheim Main Station, offering comfort and free WiFi. Regional trains regularly depart from Mannheim for Heidelberg Main Station ("Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof").
- Tickets from "Frankfurt (M) Flughafen Fernbahnhof" to "Heidelberg Hbf" can be booked in advance via www.deutsche-bahn.de. You can also check Trip.com for better deals!
Accommodation
For 2 and 3 August:
Heidelberg offers many hotel options. We recommend that all our guests stay at the Atlantic Hotel in Heidelberg.
- Prices: Single room including breakfast: €129.00; Double room including breakfast: €149.00; Prices are per room, per night.
- If you don't want to have breakfast at the hotel, you may find better deals online.
- A shuttle bus will leave from Atlantic Hotel at 1:30 PM on on our wedding day (4. August) to take all guests to Hoher Darsberg.
- There are several other hotels in the area (Heidelberg Bahnstadt), if you prefer to shop around.
For 4 August (our wedding day):
Hoher Darsberg has rooms, and we will arrange beds or family rooms for all our guests. Breakfast will be provided on August 5.
- Accommodation at Hoher Darsberg costs €80-100, depending on whether you pick a bunk bed or a family room. We will share more details on how you can pay later. Since the wedding location has limited accessibility at night, we encourage all our guests to stay with us at Hoher Darsberg for the night after our wedding. It will be a struggle to find an Uber to take you back to Heidelberg at night.
Getting to Hoher Darsberg by Car
For our German friends and family:
- For GPS Navigation: "Please enter ‘Darsberger Straße 127’ as your destination. You’ll see our entrance gate on the left side."
- From Heidelberg:
- Take the B37 road toward Neckargemünd (15-minute drive).
- After passing Neckargemünd’s town center, follow signs for "Hoher Darsberg." The venue is uphill—watch for the stone gate at Darsberger Straße 127.
- Alternative Routes:
- If your GPS redirects you to narrow forest roads, stick to Darsberger Straße—it’s the safest access.
- Landmarks: Look for ivy-covered stone walls and a wrought-iron archway with "Hoher Darsberg" signage.
- Parking: Limited parking is available onsite (we’ll reserve spots if needed).

Join us in Vetter Brewery in Heidelberg’s historic Old Town. We will be there from 6:00 PM and will love to see you all for a relaxed evening of light bites, local beers, and wine.
Post-Wedding Boat Ride on the Neckar
Tuesday, 5 August 2025
- After breakfast, we’ll glide back to Heidelberg via a scenic boat ride along the Neckar River.
- 12.15 PM Departure: Neckarsteinach (10-minute drive from Hoher Darsberg; shuttle buses will be provided).
- 1.45 PM Arrival: Heidelberg Stadthalle (for farewells or extended exploring).
- Highlights: Views of riverbanks, castles, and the Philosopher’s Walk.
Exploring Heidelberg and the Surrounding Areas
Old Town: Heidelberg Castle (Schloss Heidelberg), Baroque alleys, and the Studentenkarzer (historic student jail).
- Neckarsteinach: Four castles within hiking distance of our wedding venue.
- Wine & Dine: You may check out the Southern WineRoute, which has around 20 wineries. For tours closer to Frankfurt, you can find plenty of options here.
- For the kids: Heidelberg zoo; the Europa-Park Resort is a 1.5-hour drive away from Heidelberg.
